Susanna Hertrich completed first Intl. Artist Residence @TASML

In collaboration with Goethe Institut China, TASML implemented the first TASML International Artist Residence program at Tsinghua University. Between October 14 and November 26 of 2012, German artist Susanna Hertrich completed a 6 week long residence in which she worked with Tsinghua researchers and students to conduct experiments on building an artistic head-mounted device that extends the human olfactory sense. This device provides the wearer with the ability to be sensing CO2-levels. The residence resulted in completing a prototype of the device.

This TASML-Goethe Institut (China) jointly sponsored residence program was realized through an open call for proposal to the German media art community, a jury comprised of the following selected Ms. Susanna Hertrich as the resident artists among many other candidates.
